As I write this review I am enjoying a cup of this delicious coffee. Spetza Winner is roasted to perfection in small batches and the notes of toffee and stone fruit give it an interesting taste which I quite enjoy. I drip brew and the aroma while brewing leaves my kitchen smelling amazing. I am normally an espresso or dark roast drinker because I like a strong/bitter coffee taste, so I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this, but I am so glad I gave it a try. I’ve been drinking this for a week, and it has now become a permanent fixture in my coffee rotation. They also have a dark roast called The Beast with extra caffeine that I plan on trying.
We opened the package and noticed how great these being smell - very aromatic. Medium roast is my favorite because I don’t like anything too smoky. I like the way the bag has a zipper closure that works well.
Whole coffee beans are our favorite because we have a very nice coffee grinder and these worked well in it.
We made a pot of coffee and I liked it. I asked my husband how he liked it. He said that it’s good. Then when he went to get his 2nd cup, he said “actually this coffee tastes great.” He’s the family coffee connoisseur.
So there you have it, these are some great coffee beans from a company out of Texas. They smell great look pretty and taste terrific.
This coffee from Spetza is named Winner, and it really delivers on that name. The first thing that hits you when you open the package is the freshness. It's crisp and fruity with not even a hint of staleness, the perfect balance which for me let me know right away I was going to enjoy this. And after grinding the aroma was even stronger, so amazing. After brewing even in my cheap one cup maker, all the freshness and flavor comes across. Full bodied yet still with just enough brightness to wake up my early morning taste buds. So I can only imagine what this coffee would taste like in a quality brewer. It's so good I may try to cold brew some because I feel like that's when you can really taste the beans and savor the different levels and notes of flavor. This coffee one is certainly a winner for me and definitely worth a try.
Spetza’s Winner blend is a great medium roast made from Colombian and Ethiopian beans. It’s smooth, balanced, and flavorful without being too bold or too light. The aroma right out of the bag was rich and fresh.
I usually go for dark roasts or espresso, so I wasn’t sure I’d like this, but it quickly became a favorite. The toffee, chocolate, and subtle fruit notes come through clearly without any bitterness. It brews clean and smells amazing.
I grind my own beans, and these worked perfectly. They’re dry and not oily, which is ideal for keeping the grinder clean. I have an espresso machine, and it also held up nicely. It didn’t give much crema, but the flavor was smooth and mellow.
I also like the resealable bag and the clearly marked roast date. Mine was roasted just a few weeks before it arrived, which made a big difference in freshness.
This has become a go-to for me when I want a flavorful, easy-drinking cup. Definitely looking forward to trying their dark roast next.
I found the aroma toffee-sweet with subtle stone fruit and chocolate layers that made each sip feel smooth and satisfying. It brews a clean, medium-bodied cup that works well in both filter and French press without turning bitter. The blend of Colombian and Ethiopian beans gives it clarity and a gentle lift that fits well with both morning routines and afternoon breaks. It’s easy to enjoy without feeling too bold or too mild.
